Cody started Steelhead fishing at 13, caught his first Steelhead on a Centerpin at 14, and his first Steelhead on the fly at 15. He started river fishing at 10 years old and became intrigued by the difference in character each river holds. He started out on Prarie Creek and Rogue River, and as he gained more skill and knowledge started to explore the Grand, Manistee, and Muskegon Rivers. The Manistee River is his absolute favorite river to fish, as well as smaller rivers such as the Rogue. His favorite season is the Fall time, chasing fresh aggressive Steelhead. Fishing is more than a passion to Cody, it has turned into a lifestyle. He chases Steelhead all year long, and also loves fishing for Brown Trout, Smallmouth Bass, as well as Chinook Salmon. He loves teaching anglers young and old, seeing them pickup new techniques and having it all come together as they are fighting that trophy fish. When he's not on the water, he's spending time with his 2 year old son, Reece, tying flies, painting beads, building Centerpin reels, and preparing for the next adventure out.
